The meeting host can choose to split the participants of the meeting into these separate sessions automatically or manually or they can allow participants to select and enter breakout sessions as they please. Creating breakout rooms in a zoom meeting on the zoom meeting window you d see the breakout rooms option on the host control bar. Automatically created rooms will take the participants and place them randomly into a breakout room.
